Apex View - Reef Dashboard ("the App") was built as an independent, third-party application. This App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Neptune Systems in any way.
This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. The App has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.
Credentials You Provide
To connect to your Neptune Apex controller, you provide one of the following:
- Apex Fusion mode: Your Apex Fusion email address and password
- Local mode: Your local Apex IP address, port, username, and password
These credentials are stored only on your device using the iOS Keychain (encrypted, hardware-backed storage) and shared App Group storage (for widget functionality). Your credentials are never transmitted anywhere other than directly to Apex Fusion servers (apexfusion.com) or your local Apex controller on your home network.
Aquarium Data
The App retrieves probe readings, equipment status, and alerts directly from your Apex controller or Apex Fusion account. This data is cached locally on your device to power home screen widgets. It is never sent to any third party.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No crash reporting to external services
- No advertising identifiers
- No location data
- No contacts, photos, or media
- No device fingerprinting
- No cookies or web tracking
- No data shared with third parties
Local Network Access
When using Local mode, the App requests permission to access your local network to communicate directly with your Neptune Apex controller. This connection stays entirely within your home network.
Background Refresh
The App uses iOS Background App Refresh to periodically update widget data. This connects only to your Apex controller or Apex Fusion account and stores data locally on your device.
Data Storage
All data remains on your device:

Data Deletion
Deleting the App removes all stored data from your device, including saved credentials and cached aquarium data. You can also clear your credentials at any time from the Settings screen within the App.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App requires an existing Neptune Apex controller and Apex Fusion account to function.
Third-Party Services
The App communicates only with:
- Apex Fusion (apexfusion.com) — operated by Neptune Systems — when using Fusion mode
- Your local Apex controller — on your home network — when using Local mode
We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the privacy practices of Neptune Systems. We encourage you to review Neptune Systems' privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
